SALLY BEAUTY AND NATIONAL BEAUTY CULTURISTS’ LEAGUE
ANNOUNCE $10,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS
On July 22, 2006, Sally Beauty and the National Beauty Culturists’ League (NBCL) announced the ten recipients of the annual scholarship award. Each of the ten students will receive $1,000 towards their cosmetology education.
The NBCL Board of Directors luncheon, where the scholarships were presented, was held during the organization’s 87th Annual Institute, Convention and Show at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel. The luncheon was hosted by Sally Beauty and Reneé Reynolds and Jan Roberts as representatives of the company presented the check to the NBCL. Six of the ten scholarship award winners were present at the luncheon and they stood as their names were announced.
Dr. Katie B. Catalon congratulated the winners and read the guidelines used to determine the recipients. She also thanked and acknowledged the three scholarship judges and their outstanding credentials. The judges were Dr. Carolyn Stroman, Associate Professor, Howard University; Dr. Victor Vandell, President/CEO, BMM PowerMoves; and Lucille B. Tompkins-Davis, M.Ed., CCC-SLP, a licensed speech pathologist.
